variables in strings throw warning php0410

I just installed the PHP extension into vscode, and right away I am seeing warnings in most of my php pages. Any time I have a variable in an echo or print (or any string) inside double quotes, it throws this warning with the message "Cannot implicitly convert 'void' to 'string'PHP(PHP0410)". Can anyone explain why? As far as I know, this is perfectly acceptable syntax in PHP, and since you don't need to define the type of variable, I don't understand why it would give me such a warning.
print "<h4>Online Payment History for $company</h4>";

DavidKersten Hello David, and thank you for posting the issue.

This seems like the editor does not see $company variable anywhere in the workspace, so it assumes it is unassigned.

Do you open a whole folder in VSCode or just file by file?

We'll do something about it.

This was an issue with global variables not being correctly analysed across the entire workspace.

We've fixed this in the latest pre-release. Thank you for reporting that!
