Visual Studio 2022 Professional keeps crashing on interaction

Visual Studio crashes after almost any kind of interaction with the IDE. Trying to switch tabs or compile seems to result in a crash on both my personal and work devices with the PHP Tools extension installed, the problem disappears with the extension disabled.

@samjtdrew thank you for reporting the issue.

The extension shouldn't be practically able to cause a crash like this. There might be a conflict with another (maybe older) 3rd party extension.

Do you have any other extensions besides PHP Tools?

It is possible, that Visual Studio needs the latest Windows Update, specifically .NET Framework needs to be updated.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I went ahead and disabled each of the extensions, mainly just MS ones. But it seems to be the Devart suite of extensions that are causing the crashing when enabled alongside PHP tools, specifically the connector to MySQL. Ive found an alternative to use in its place :)

samjtdrew Thank you for resolving the issue! I'm glad you found the cause of it. Devart is probably bundling an older System.Runtime.dll which causes the classic Dll Hell.
