Variable replacement bug

Hi everyone, tried looking this issue up, but doesn't seem like anyone else having it.
I have some very tricky and annoying bug with this extension in visual studio code: when I place a cursor, either with a mouse click, or with arrow keys, on a variable - it starts replacing all its occurrences in current file. It's pretty much impossible to use at current state.
There is no issue If I disable PHP extension, and if I enable it again - there might be no issue for some time, but then it starts doing it again.
I'm using stable version of visual studio code, and I have all other extensions disabled.
I recorder a video showing which I hope will make clear what I'm talking about, but your file uploader doesn't allow attaching it.

this feature is called "linked editing" and it is disabled by default.

Reset the setting "php.linkedEditing.variables" to false to disable it.

JakubMisek Thank you! I wonder how it was turned on...
But also, from the option description it seems like it should not do anything if "Editor: Linked Editing" is disabled, and I have it disabled.

DmytroKozachok1 I'm glad it solved the issue.

You're right, it shouldn't do anything, but if it does, it's a bug in VSCode itself :/
Isn't the setting enabled somewhere else? (Workspace scope in .vscode/settings.json)

It definitely isn't enabled in .vscode/settings.json, this "(Modified elsewhere)" is very confusing because it doesn't really show where. It's disabled in both "User" and "Workspace" tabs.
