Rename has gone?

I am using Devsense PHP Tools for Visual Studio 2022.
If I right click a variable, I am not getting the opportunity to rename it.
I am quite sure, I should... so what am I missing here?

Also, nothing happens if I place the caret on a variable and press F2.

cleo, thank you for pointing this out.

In VS, the shortcut is by default Ctrl+R,R. You can change it in Tools/Options -> Keyboard to F2.

You're right that the context menu "Rename" disappeared starting from VS 2022. We'll try to workaround this issue in the next update.
