PHP Tools can't analyze Codeigniter3 correctly

I’m developing a CodeIgniter 3 app on PHP 7.4 in VS Code using DEVSENSE PHP Tools. The language server shows many “Undefined property” warnings on my controllers. The analyzer doesn’t detect them.
Is there a recommended setup for CI3 so PHP Tools recognizes these automatically?
Any guidance would help.

Aria Thank you for reporting the issues.

CI3 has many wrong PHPDoc type annotations, which makes the IDE super confused.

We're discussing the very same thing on https://github.com/DEVSENSE/phptools-docs/issues/677

I'll be happy to prepare some recommended setup for CI3 development, putting it on our list!

Aria as a quick workaround for now, I recommend disabling the 0416 diagnostic.

It would be wonderful to have a recommended setup for CI3 development or even better having a special stub for CI3 in PHP Tools like you mentioned in GitHub.
Anything to get a better analysis for CI3 would be much appreciated as CI3 is still a relevant framework for targeting older environments and requirements.

Aria the latest pre-release introduces support for CI3 out of the box - feel free to try :)

Note, it still does not solve the "unknown property" warning - we need to do more research on that.

@Aria , the latest release (and later pre-release) supports CI3 much better - I recommend trying it - and let us know how it works for you now. We're keen to keep improving CI3 support in upcoming updates.
