Copying and moving with the mouse

Hi,

I've encountered a strange problem when copying or moving code with the mouse. I want to move the selected text, but it always just copies. If I want to copy the selected text, it always inserts a line break before the selected text. Is this correct?

Interestingly, then undo doesn't work properly.

That sounds weird - may I ask for a video or a screenshot?
Do you use Drag&Drop with Ctrl key, or Alt+Arrows, or Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V?

Undo with Ctrl+Z
Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V

I reinstalled PHP Tools. I just move with the mouse, but it still copies. Then I want to undo the changes with CTRL + Z.
I will try reinstalling the entire Visual Studio.

TomasNajman the "+" icon indicates, that Visual Studio is doing Copy, not Move.

It almost looks like your Ctrl key is locked.

Isn't there another extension that may interfere? Reinstalling VS does not make sense.

Reinstalling Visual Studio didn't help. It works fine for C#, but not for PHP. I tried using a pre-release version and the result is the same.

It does this in HTML files too. Someone has already reported this to Visual Studio. I apologize and thank you for your time.

Thanks for letting us know. I can confirm this is happening in VS2026(VS2022 is ok) for HTML files as well.
