Linebreak after []

Hi there!

   $table = $row1['TABLE_NAME']
   ;

if (
       $row['DATA_TYPE']
       == 'date'
   )

expected:

  $table = $row1['TABLE_NAME'];

 if (
       $row['DATA_TYPE'] == 'date'
   )

everything after [] creates a new line. I couldn't find a suitable formatting option. The general option “; on a new line” is disabled. Thank you for your support.

This looks like a bug in the pre-release version. Working on it.

That's weird. I've tried 1.90.19193 but wasn't able to reproduce. May I ask you to try the latest pre-release just to rule out any installation issue 1.91.19255

It was doing the same thing to me. Changing the code style in the settings solved the problem.

just to clarify, did it help to change a specific code style setting where the issue was happening, or did changing any setting just reset it so it stopped happening?

MiloslavBeno I had the code style set to "Custom" and I changed it to "PER". I didn't make any other changes.

Sorry for the late reply. I didn’t receive an email notification.

I changed the style set to PER (it was set to Custom) and then changed it back again, reapplying all the changes. Now it works, at least for new and modified lines.

The only minor issue is that code that has already been formatted with the wrong rules doesn’t revert to the correct formatting, even when I use the “Format Page” option.

Thank you for the update!

The reason existing code isn't formatted back is that our formatter is designed to be flexible. If there isn't an explicit rule configured for a specific case, it leaves your current formatting untouched rather than forcing a change.

Since reapplying the style set resolved the issue for new and modified code, I'll go ahead and close this thread for now. If you run into anything else or need further help with formatting rules, feel free to start a new discussion!
