Right Click crashes Visual Studio 2026

Updated the plugin to this version, PHP.VS.1.90.19157.2022, and now every time I right click in Visual Studio in the Solution Explorer it freezes and crashes. After disabling the plugin right click works again and no crashes.

Does it happen with any project in Visual Studio (only PHP, or C#, or others as well)?
Do you right-click on a file, a project, or a Dependencies node?
Have you tried updating to the latest pre-release 1.90.19193 (from https://www.devsense.com/en/download)?

PeterNannis, a common issue is not updated Visual Studio.

Please run the "Visual Studio Installer" program and update your Visual Studio instance. The latest PHP Tools extension is always built against the latest Visual Studio version.

If it happens to anyone else, it is an internal bug from 2010 that started causing issues after recent updates to both VS and PHP Tools. We're preparing update 1.91.19319 which fixes that.

It happens when I right click on a project in the Solution Explorer for any project in the case a C# solution that doesn't use the PHP extension at all, then VS hints that I should disable the PHP 1.91.19255 extension, and then right click works again.
I did install the latest pre-release and still the same issue. I'm using Visual Studio 18.7.3.

May I ask you to get a log file (https://docs.devsense.com/vs/troubleshooting/activitylog-xml/) ?

start devenv.exe /Log
retry the steps to crash Visual Studio
get the ActivityLog.xml file in %AppData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\18.0_xxxxxxxx
