I occasionally get a "Failed to launch debug adapter" error and the only way to debug is to restart Visual Studio. This just happened when I was debugging and my code called an undefined function. The error "Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function" was correct displayed. I fixed my code, selected Restart in Visual Studio (or stopped the debugger and chose Start Debugging). A browser window opened to "about:blank". After about 10 seconds, a window appears saying, "Failed to launch debug adapter. Additional information may be available in the output window. Cannot connect to the runtime process..." The only way to get the debugger to launch is to close and restart Visual Studio.
Is there another way to resolve this other than a restart? Is there a process I can close in the task manager?
Thanks!
