Remote Explorer - No such file, No such file

Its taken me some time top get used to the new Remote Explorer and perhaps I do not yet fully understand whats going on.

I upload to a remote linux server via sftp and I'm running into problems with the creation of folders. If I publish from the Remote Explorer I get "No such file, No such file" errors however if I right click in the Solution Explorer and select Publish <folder name etc> then the system has no problem in creating the remote folders and publishing the files.

Also, it the big difference between the old publish and the new Remote Explorer is that the Remote Explorer publishes all files (that are not specifically excluded) that are in the project repo whereas the old publish only sent files that were in the Project Solution. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet.

The error with creating a folder on the remote is fixed in the latest preview update available at https://www.devsense.com/en/download .

The main reason for the new implementation is, that there is A new project system (Visual Studio 2019 and newer) that has always all the files in the project folder listed in your Solution Explorer whilst the old one sometimes missed files added outside the Visual Studio. Also, Remote Explorer simplifies excluding whole folders and provides a preview of local changes similar to other source control tools.

Although; as you suggested, it would be reasonable to implicitly exclude files that are not included in the PHP project.

I hope it helps. We'll keep working on the remote explorer based on all the feedback we get. Next, we are going to merge the remaining features in there.

I believe that the option to automatically exclude files that are not in the solution is important.

Various tools create .bak files in the repo workspace but I obviously don't want to put these in the solution. With the latest version whenever a new .bak file is created via an editor or 3rd party plugin I now get "Failure; Failure."

Excluding these files manually is annoying,

Whilst I love your product I'm getting irritated with the new remote explorer and the publishing of files to remote servers via sftp. Currently I'm getting the Failure;Failure; message when uploading changes however once again, right clicking on the file in solution explorer and publishing the file works fine.....

@srcurtis I understand! we're working on this, so far it seems this error is caused by the response from the remote SFTP server. Remote Explorer shows this notice but continues uploading the files.

We'll add more detailed error information and try to find out what's causing it.
