Unable to debug in VS 2022 v 17.5.0

Updated VS 2022 to 17.5 and am now receiving this error when attempting to run in debug:

I also have problems with search/replace as reported by another earlier this morning.

Update: downloaded and installed the pre-release of PHP-Tools v 1.71.17356 and still have the same problem.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for reporting this. We're looking into this... It appears it's related to Script debugger, not PHP debugger.

When you try to Disable it, does it change anything?

If I turn off script debugging it does allow me to continue and break points in PHP are hit. This is not optimal of course, I am no longer able to debug javascript.

Of course, we're going to solve it. But at least we know where the issue is now.

Do you use Edge or Chrome?

Yup and Chrome... I unfortunately uninstalled it and reinstalled it before finding this thread... otherwise I would have reverted to a previous version... thankfully it's not on my main dev computer that I'm having the issue, but until it's fixed I'm not updating my main one 😂

got it, thank you. I made a small adjustment in the latest pre-release (available in the downloads section). To be honest, I don't really expect it to solve it for you, but it might...

Otherwise, I'm going to prepare a version where we will get more information about the issue on your computer.

It is still showing version 1.71.17398 in the pre-release? I uninstalled and re-installed it, but same problem
I also just updated to 17.5.1 and that didn't help either.

I might know! Are you using a legacy project system?

You would know if you see References in the Solution Explorer instead of Dependencies.

If that's the case, we can fix it.
