PHP language server constantly crashing

It is a dedicated machine with 64GB, twice as much as the machine I just migrated away from. I've tried disabling IntelliPhp and most other extensions too, but did not help.

Thank you, so it won't be an issue with RAM.

It's weird that both DEVSENSE.intelli-php-vscode and DEVSENSE.phptools-vscode extensions are crashing at random times.

Have you tried a previous release version?

I've been trying several older versions back to v1.33.12934, still permanent crashes

Does it happen even if you open an empty folder with just a single .php file?

This looks like the server is missing a lib, and our process crashes at some point (it usually logs the error, at least).
Have you tried updating (apt-get update and similar)?

No, as long as their are no open PHP files, I don't get any messages from VSCode. It starts a few seconds after the first PHP file is opened in an editor window.
An apt-get update is not really possible, because it is a managed server maintained by Hetzner. We've SSH access, but no root access.
However, this is a dedicated machine, and Hetzner support is usually really helpful and permissive if I could provide them with clear, directed instructions on what to install.

office, isn't it possible that the server is killing "greedy" processes?

There is no exception message in the VSCode log; this usually indicates that our process didn't crash but has been terminated.

Not that I would know, we are constantly running some fat and long running cron jobs on other Hetzner servers, never experienced any preemptive terminations on those. I've contacted support and asked about this, I'll respond here when I get feedback from them.

So Hetzner responded

The process "devsense.php.ls" was terminated by our process monitoring. A release has now been set up for this process. Please check whether this solves your problem.

No answer why it got on their blocklist in the first place. The lang server no longer crashes, but IntelliPHP still does. Could you provide me a list of process names needed for IntelliPHP?

Any other processes needed for the PHP extension itself or the Xdebug?

PHP extension (all the editor features, IntelliSense, refactoring, code analysis, ...) runs in devsense.php.ls process.
IntelliPHP (the grey AI in-line code suggestions) runs in intelliphp.ls process.

Is there anything we can do to avoid being blocked by Hetzner servers? I understand that they consume a significant amount of RAM (₁₀₀ MB up to 1GB in case of large workspaces).

Do you have more users running VSCode server on the same Hetzner server? Currently, each user session starts a new process.

I can't speak for Hetzner, however their managed servers run on a software stack very similar to their cheap shared webhosts.

I assume this process monitoring does not happen on their dedicated root servers or their cloud servers.
