Thanks for your response, Jakub.
I've added following dll to this folder content:
C:\Program Files\IIS Express\PHP\v8.2\ext
php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_nts_x64.dll
php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_ts_x64.dll
and added these entries in appropriate session of PHP.ini file:
extension=php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_ts_x64.dll
extension=php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_nts_x64.dll
then, I've tried to configure remote sql server connection:
$serverName = "host name\sql server istance name,1433";
$connectionOptions = array("Database"=>"my db",
"Uid"=>"local sql server user", "PWD"=>"password");
then, when running this line:
$conn = sqlsrv_connect($serverName, $connectionOptions);
I get following runtime error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function sqlsrv_connect() in C:\Users\corlacchio\source\repos\PHPWebProject6\index.php:8
So, since I am new for PHP language, I am guessing the sqlsrv_connect function is a built in, or however internal PHP function, but I am not sure.
Note that php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_nts_x64.dll and php_pdo_sqlsrv_81_ts_x64.dll look like most updated libraries that I am able to find on distribution (as far as I can know); also I am wondering if it is correct to use 64 bit libraries for PHP 8.2.1 (x64) runtime: it looks like logical to me, but of course I can't be sure.
Thanks a lot for your support
Cosimo
